10 Myths Your Boss Has About Item Upgrading

World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A  boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to improve your gear is to place Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus which will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Utilizing a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, so it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximize the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The  item upgrade  system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.

Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a different item of the same type. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a problem in that it could cause the item to become more expensive if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can waste many resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). This item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The upgrader for items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its initial state, which will force the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonus it earned such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are dependent on its rarity score and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs listed above.
