Item Upgrading Isn't As Difficult As You Think
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3percent of its previous attack damage every time it's upgraded.
Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.
A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of an item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved following an update.
The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.
In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes more quickly.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a problem in that it could make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrade s. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can waste a lot of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely useful in PvP. Requirements
The ability to upgrade item s allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting back to its original state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as chances to be crit attack damage, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For example, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to bring each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
